The Vietnam-Taiwan Textile and Garment Industry Exhibition has started in the Ho Chi Minh City to showcase textile products from the two countries. Co-organised by the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) and the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad), it aims to strengthen the cooperation between Taiwanese and Vietnamese textile companies.The two-day event is currently underway at the Saigonexpo showroom in HCM City and has provisions for direct meetings as well as online meetings. About 60 Vietnamese enterprises are attending the exhibition and close to 16 Taiwanese textile manufacturers are joining it through Zoom meetings, as per Vietnamese media reports.
Taiwan’s largest textile and garment export market in 2020 was Vietnam, accounting for 25.3 per cent of its total textiles export turnover. Vietnam was also its second-largest source for textile in 2020, accounting for 14 per cent of its total imports.
