The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) will hold two workshops on Italian textile technology in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam from April 14-17, 2015.

During these workshops Italian textile machinery manufacturers like Bianco, Corino, Fadis, Laip, Mei and Roj will showcase their technologies to the Vietnamese textile sector.

“The workshop is part of a promotional program that ACIMIT and Italian Trade Agency have been organising for many years,” ACIMIT said in a press release.

It includes also some missions of textile Vietnamese operators in Italy and the participation of Italian companies at the local trade shows.

Among the emerging markets for textile machinery, Vietnam is one of the most promising one with the country striving to become a leading textile and apparel exporting country.

“Further growth of the sector is expected in the next years and alongside Vietnamese companies will invest in upgrading their technologies,” ACIMIT added.

“Italian companies are eager to cooperate in this process thanks to the long tradition of partnership with Vietnamese textile companies,” the trade body informed.

Vietnam’s textile sector is already one of the most valuable buyers of Italian textile machine technology among Asian markets.

In 2014, Italy exported textile machinery amounting to €30 million to Vietnam, a near doubling of growth when compared with figures in 2013.

ACIMIT represents Italian textile machinery producers made up of around 300 companies and employing close to 12,000 people.

The sector produces machinery of overall value of roughly €2.3 billion, of which 84 per cent are exported to around 130 countries worldwide. (AR)
