Yarn Expo returns in March with bigger Indian pavilion

Yarn Expo Spring returns from March 16-18, 2016 and will be held across 10,000 sq. metres of space in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in hall 7.2, with a bigger Indian pavilion.

“Following the success of the 2015 edition, a larger India Pavilion will feature this time,” a press release from the organiser, Messe Frankfurt stated.

Ravindranathan Narayanasamy, joint director at TEXPROCIL, the organiser of the Indian pavilion said, “This fair is important for us as we can make business contacts with not only Chinese customers, but also those from outside China too.”

“The customer quality this year is also good, and in our experience, around 30 per cent of the new buyers will actually place orders, which is a good number,” he added.

Yarn Expo Spring showcases a wide spectrum of natural and blended yarns including cotton, wool, flax / regenerated flax, and man-made fibres and yarns as well as specialty products including elastic, and fancy and blended yarns.

Alongside the India Pavilion, neighbours Pakistan will also feature with their own zone, showcasing competitively priced cotton yarns.

Furthermore, following the successful first-time participation of a number of Uzbekistan exhibitors at this year's Yarn Expo Autumn, an increased participation is expected in 2016.

“We are optimistic regarding our competitiveness in the Chinese market due to the quality of our products,” Baoqin Zhang from Cenas Textile said.

Quva Tekstil's general director, Hayrulla Parpiev too added, “We brought high-quality cotton yarns to target the Chinese high-end market, and we offer a lower price for very good quality cotton which is an advantage for Uzbekistan companies.”

“The buyers who visited our booth are mostly from the best companies in the industry, so this fair definitely helps us to develop the Chinese market and gain exposure,” Parpiev informed.

A feature of the 2015 Spring Edition was the increasing participation of synthetic and knitting yarn suppliers, particularly from Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore.

“In 2016, it is expected that more exhibitors of these products from China, Korea, Portugal and Taiwan will also feature at the fair to take advantage of the potential in the domestic market,” Messe Frankfurt noted.

Yang Shibin, president of the China Knitting Industrial Association had recently said, “For two years in a row, the Chinese knitting industry's export amount has exceeded $100 billion dollars.”

“In 2014, the export amount reached $106 billion dollars and accounted for 35.6 per cent of the Chinese textile industry's output,” he too added.

“This shows that despite the current uncertainty in the industry as a whole, the development of the knitting sector in China remains strong,” Shibin observed.
