Net profit at Austrian producer of specialty viscose fibres Lenzing Group soared 78.9 per cent to €229.1 million or €8.48 earnings per share in 2016 as against €128.1 million or €4.78 earnings per share in the prior year. Consolidated revenue rose 8 per cent in the reporting year to €2.13 billion compared to €1.98 billion in the previous year.

EBIT of the Lenzing Group almost doubled in the period under review, from €151.1 million in 2015 to €296.3 million, while EBIT margin improved to 13.9 per cent vis-à-vis 7.6 per cent in the earlier year.
According the company, the decisive factors responsible for the good results were the higher selling prices for all its fibre products as well as a better product mix. (AR)
