Vertically integrated textile group Vardhman Textiles has reported that its net profit has dropped 10 per cent to Rs 158.56 crore in the fourth quarter of FY17, as compared to Rs 176.21 crore in the same period of fiscal 2016. However, the net profit of the company for the entire FY17 increased to Rs 981.41 crore from Rs 614.59 crore in the previous fiscal.The total income from operations of Vardhman Textiles increased to Rs 1,657.39 crore in the fourth quarter of FY17 from Rs 1,515.27 crore during the same period in FY16. Along with the income, the total expenses of the company also rose from Rs 1,287.67 crore in the last quarter of FY16 to Rs 1,444.79 crore during the final quarter of FY17.
Vardhman has 22 manufacturing units spread across 6 states in India. The group's business portfolio includes yarn, greige and processed fabric, sewing thread, acrylic fibre, garments and alloy steel. (KD)
