As per the latest estimates made by Cotton South Africa, production of cotton lint in the country would probably touch 91,508 bales (1 bale = 200 kg) in the current season, down 3.3 percent, from the estimates made in the previous month.
This would also include 4,000 bales from the neighbouring country of Swaziland.
The latest estimate would however still be more than double of the cotton crop of the previous season. The cotton crop this season, has recorded the first increase in seven years.
