Textile Minister assures J&K handicraft sector for all possible support

At a meeting organized by Handicraft Corporation at Sopore, Union Textiles Minister Shanker Sinh Vaghela assured handicraft sector in Jammu and Kashmir for all possible assistance to enhance the sector.
Vaghela informed that the essentials to extend support would be worked out at a convention of officials of the Centre and state handicraft departments in Delhi in August, which is likely to be held in starting of August in consultation with ministry for industries.
The modalities for extending support to the state would be fixed after thorough discussions with the concerned ministries.
Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Saif-ud-din Soz projected demands concerned with the handicrafts sector and urged to grant 500 looms for the purpose.
Soz also appealed to set up two craft markets to provide readymade market to the artisan connected with different crafts.
Raman Matoo, State Minister of State for Industries informed that the loan process to established small industrial facilities in the state be easier.
