Manufacturing businesses were given a welcome boost today with the news that Haden Freeman, one of the UK's leading independent engineering and consultancy companies, has taken ownership of the Process Industry Centre for Manufacturing Excellence (PICME).
Established by the Chemical Industries Association (CIA) in April 2000, PICME was set up to specifically help manufacturers of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, plastics and rubbers improve their competitiveness and efficiency.
Nigel Hirst, Chief Executive of Haden Freeman, was optimistic for the future: "This deal brings Haden Freeman's commitment to quality and customer service to manufacturing businesses in the UK and beyond".
PICME continues to benefit chemical businesses, of all sizes and in all areas of manufacturing, and in doing so has provided improvements to supply chain logistics in process manufacturing industries as well as workshops and masterclasses for change programmes.
Steve Elliott Chief Executive of CIA added: "The combination of an excellent PICME team and Haden Freeman means chemical businesses and other manufacturing businesses can now get world class support in improving their competitiveness and efficiency".
