The decline in the export sector has alarmed the Government and it has, now, taken a major move to standardize its production and mode of operations in the textile industry.
They have hired an international consultancy, Werner International for benchmarking 10 different textile categories including weaving, spinning, dying, labour, etc.
This project of the government will improve the standard of the production practices by leading textile manufacturers. This would attract world attention towards country's products and lead to enhancement of export.
The Federal Bureau of Statistics revealed that textile exports of the country has declined by 9.11 per cent, to $3.23 billion, during the first four months of this fiscal which was more than $3.55 billion during the same period.
Pakistan Government is optimistic, with this move textile industry may face and fight the challenges.
