Crooked Brook is a longtime Supima licensee. Since 1989, Crooked Brook has been designing and making custom chef jackets. It was in her NYC Studio that Pam Geren, the founder of Crooked Brook, got the idea to use denim and colors other than white.

This caught the attention of CNN's magazine On The Menu that led to a piece that aired on 3/6/93. Since its beginning, Geren has focused on creating the best jackets possible. Extensive research to find the best fabric is what brought Geren together with Supima.

Geren has invested in a state-of-the-art digitizing and embroidery system and uses unique buttons made of bone, glass, horn, shell and stone. Further, Geren has opened a second studio, in Utica, New York; located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, and assembled a crew of exceptional dress-makers, shirt-makers, and tailors.

The focus of the entire line is absolute quality and value. Each jacket is made-to-order; not cranked out by machine operators. Geren has no desire to produce the most, only the best.

Chefs participating in the event included Dan Barber of Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Michael Laiskonis – Le Bernardin, Terrence Brennan – Artisanal, Picholine, Max McCalman – Artisanal Cheese, Thomas Valenti – Ouest, Pierre Schaedelin – Le Cirque, David Pasternak – Esca, Geoffrey Zakarian – Country, Town, Kerry Heffernan, Tish Boyle – Author/Editor, Scott Conant, Alto, L'Impero, Paul Lang – A Casa, Ariane Daguin – D'Artagnan, Nancy Olsen – Gramercy Tavern, Katherine Alford – Food Network, Melissa Walnock – Tabla, Suvir Saran – Devi, and Frank Stitt – Highlands Bar and Grill.
