Tex-Styles India 2007 concludes successfully

India's biggest textile exposition “Tex-Styles India 2007” concluded successfully on 2nd March, 2007 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The mega annual event, organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), saw a significant presence in the number of business visitors and buyers from overseas keeping in view the competitive environment. The 13th edition of the four day event attracted around 8,000 business visitors, of whom 942 were overseas buyers. 358 buying agents representing foreign companies also visited the Show.

The most significant aspect of Tex-Styles India 2007 was the representation of buyers from as many as 80 countries, which was higher than last year's figures. Business worth Rs. 252 crores was reported to have been transacted during the four days of the Exhibition. Its success was clearly established, as about 75% of the Exhibitors expressed their willingness to repeat participation in the Show next year, while about 60% of the Exhibitors were satisfied with the quality of the Exhibition.

Leading international buyers from USA and Europe made their presence felt at the fair. While the largest number of buyers was from Japan followed by France and USA, there has been impressive visitors turn out from the high fashion European markets of Italy, Spain, UK and Germany. There was also significant number of buyers from Australia, Canada,China, Holland, Turkey, Russia and South Africa. Apart from foreign and Indian buyers, journalists from reputed textile related magazines from various parts of the world including Italy, USA and Japan visited the fair to cover it in their respective publications.

The state-of-the-art exhibition ground at Pragati Maidan was spruced up to show the best of Indian products in congenial surroundings. Modern Infrastructure at Halls 8-12A, communication facilities, business centers, Cyber Café, Wi-Fi, etc. - all were put in place. Tex-Styles India 2007 showcased the best of the Indian textile industry in terms of quality, styles, richness of colours, weaves, textures, etc.
