With a year to go before the show opens in Shanghai, the first ITMA ASIA + CITME exhibition has already marked a watershed in the history of China's textile machinery exhibitions.
• All 100,000sqm of gross exhibition space at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNIEC) has been snapped up by textile machinery manufacturers from around the world.
• Two new SNIEC halls currently under construction will be ready, bringing the gross exhibition area to 120,000 sqm for the show's debut.
• At the close of space applications in April, bookings from some 800 manufacturers from 20 countries and regions had been received.
• The bulk of the applications were from CEMATEX countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) and China, each taking about 45 percent of the total.
• Applications have also been received from manufacturers in Denmark, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and USA.
• The Japan Textile Machinery Association (JTMA) is bringing a very strong group of exhibitors.
The show owners and organisers are confident that the first ITMA ASIA + CITME will be China's largest and most professionally organised international textile machinery exhibition.
