Seminar on reusable surgical textiles by ARTA in 2008

More than 60 early risers attended American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA) Member Breakfast at Clean '07, which celebrated the association 's 25th anniversary.
In addition to updating the membership on ARTA and its plans for the coming year, President Don Pedder honored retiring Executive Director Bill Carroll, as well as longtime board member Grace Howe (who left the board last fall). ARTA's Member Breakfast was held June 12 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Pedder thanked Carroll for his years of service and presented him with an engraved crystal award. Carroll joined the A RTA board of directors in 1986 and had served as its executive director since 2000.
“The accomplishments of ARTAover the years are many,” said Carroll.“The future of ARTAnow rests in your capable hands. I desire much success for you and ARTA in the years to come.”
ARTA Membership Update After welcoming those present, President Pedder introduced ARTA's Board of Directors. Board members for 2007-2008 are: Pedder, president; John Smith, first vice president; Ed McCauley, second vice president; Robert Hewett, treasurer; Nancy Jenkins, secretary; Greg Gurtler, past president; and directors Brad Bushman, Howard Zins, Ken Tyler, Barb Bowen, Barb Fordyce, Tom Egebrecht and Steve Tinker.
Pedder shared his agenda for the following year with members. That agenda includes: • Expand ARTA membership while maintaining a balance between manufacturers, suppliers and operators. • Develop the 2008 spring seminar on reusable surgical textiles set for April 30-May 1. Treasurer Robert Hewett presented the financial review.
