50-plus exhibitors present technical innovations at ITMA

British textile machinery companies are making a major impact at the Septemberfest – the first-ever ITMA show to be held in Munich, which is taking place immediately before the German city's world-famous Oktoberfest celebrations.

The 50-plus British exhibitors at ITMA 2007 are reporting keen interest in the technical innovations they are presenting to the show's estimated 100,000 visitors to what is the ultimate showcase for textile technology.

The UK equipment manufacturers, under the leadership of the British Textile Machinery Association, occupy some 2,500 square metres of stand space and cover practically every textile processing discipline, either through mainstream production ranges or in the increasingly important area of ancillary equipment for the control of quality, the enhancement of productivity and the optimisation of efficiency.

There are also a number of ITMA debutants, as several new BTMA members have booked stand space at the show. This article focuses on some of the show highlights from British companies.

One of the newer BTMA members is AccuTrack Automation, a company which specialises in machine monitoring and production data collection systems, especially for textile processes such as circular knitting, weaving, flat bed knitting, socks and hosiery manufacturing.

Also new to the show is Adaptive Control Solutions, which was founded in 1999 by a team of textile automation specialists. The firm now produces industrial automation controllers that are totally based on PC technology, and has found a successful niche in the dyeing and finishing sectors, having secured substantial contracts with leading names such as Aristoc, John Haggas, Shirley Dyeing and Penn Nyla.
