Compared to June 2007 the prices of imports in August 2007 increased by 0.5%. The prices of products supplied from the euro area went down by 0.2% and the prices of products imported from the non-euro area went up by 1.6%.

In August 2007 the prices of imports went up by 0.5%; the prices of products imported from the non-euro area by 1.6% and the prices of products supplied from the euro area went down by 0.2%. The price change was caused by supply and demand, exchange prices and the prices of raw material.
Prices of other wearing apparel; furs and furniture; other manufactured goods n.e.c. remained the same as in July 2007. Prices of imports decreased in these groups: watches and clocks (0.4).
Compared to July 2007, in August 2007 the prices of consumer goods were 1.4% higher. Higher were prices of intermediate goods (by 0.4%) and the prices of capital goods (by 0.2%).

Compared to August 2006, in August 2007 the prices of imports were 3.6% higher. In one year the prices of products supplied from the euro area went up by 3.0% and the prices of products imported from the non-euro area by 4.3%.
