Automotive Textile Industry, the sector attracting maximum attention of the Indian industrialists witnessed another great show organized by Business C-ordination House (BCH). The recently concluded training workshop on Automotive Textiles aimed at providing a perfect conduit for correct knowledge exchange amongst the interested stakeholders of this industry.

The fact cannot be denied that the speedy growth of the Automobile Industry in India will further widen the gap between the demand and supply of automotive textile components used in cars.

Large infrastructural development projects, favourable government policies, easy availability of finance, and disposable income growth are the factors which are driving the growth of the automotive sector which in turn will increase the demand for these automotive textiles.

Considering the above scenario, the 2-day workshop on Automotive Textiles gave a timely opportunity to the delegates to analyse the various product categories and communicate with the sector representatives thus helping them in their decision making.

The course instructors for the 'Training Workshop on Automotive Textiles' were Professor Subhash Anand from The University of Bolton, UK and Professor V. K. Kothari, IIT Delhi, India. Additionally, the attendees got a chance to hear detailed lectures on various related topics from the industry.

Mr. Nitin Bavkar, GM, Dornier Machinery India Pvt Ltd gave details on weaving technologies for the automotive textile applications viz. airbags, seating fabrics and others; Professor B. K. Behera, IIT Delhi talked about Seat belts and its manufacturing; Mr. Jacques Fritsch and Mr. Dhirendra Gautam from Huntsman International (India) Pvt Ltd elaborated on the dyeing and finishing requirements for the automotive textiles.
