APCO fabrics have recently launched a designer collections store in Vizag, which was inaugurated by PSN Raju, Chairman, Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA).
ACPO is the APEX Society at the State Level called A.P. State Handloom Weavers' Cooperative Society Ltd (APSHWCS).
Group has decided to come up with 120 new designs in shirting and furnishings. Also, to increase the popularity of handloom fabrics in other states, APCO is planning to franchise handloom products to the dealers from there and will organise exhibitions for the same.
Mr Kanaka Ratnam, a divisional marketing officer informed on the occasion that APCO has created employment opportunities for around 50,000 weavers and realized a turnover of Rs138 Crore in last fiscal. The body is likely to touch a target of Rs150 crore in the current year.
The society also plans to obtain products worth Rs70 crore from weavers' societies during 2007-08 and has already issued production orders to more than 500 societies.
