Statistics from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry reveal that textile production and shipment were slightly down by 0.2 percent and 2.4 percent as per the industrial indices of production for July as compared with June, this year.
Manmade fibre production index for July stood at 77.1 points, which was 2.2 percent above June figure.
Similarly, spun yarn, woven fabrics and dyeing and finishing process production indices stood at 48.00, 69.9 and 68 points in July, registering negative growth of 0.6, 0.6 and 1.2 compared to June figures.
However, leather products recorded highest negative percentage rise in indices at negative 4.1 percent compared with June at the production index of 69.8 in July.
