Kalyan cotton prices at the National Multi-Commodity Exchange of India (NMCE) for the May contract have seen slight changes during the week starting from December 1 to 6.
The opening price on Monday stood at Rs485 per lot (1 lot = 20 kg). By the day end, it slipped by Rs1.00 per lot and closed at Rs484 per lot.
On Saturday, Kalyan cotton May series closed at Rs483.40 per lot down by Rs1.60 from Rs485.00 previous week.
Kalyan cotton noted a low of Rs482.50 per lot on Wednesday and touched a high of Rs490.10 on Thursday during the trading sessions of the week.
Turnover this week was around Rs438.5 million which was higher than previous weeks of Rs269.8 million.
Thus, significant growth was seen during first part of week but downturn was seen in last two days of the week.
