S Kumars Nationwide Limited (SKNL), which has presence in multiple product categories from fabrics to apparels and home textiles, has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs. 879.4 million during the first quarter of current fiscal, a rise of 40.23 percent compared to its net profit of Rs. 627.1 million recorded during the corresponding period of last fiscal.
During the quarter ended June 30, the company's net sales increased to Rs. 14.61 billion compared to Rs. 11.91 billion achieved during the first quarter of fiscal 2010-11, an increase of 22.68 percent.
The company witnessed improved margins and good sales in domestic markets during the period. Reid & Taylor and Belmonte remained top performing brands while the readymade apparels section also marked high growth, according to SKNL.
The company said that the share of Luxury Cotton is also increasing and the new HVFC plant will reach its maximum capacity utilization in fiscal 2011-12.
