French luxury fashion house Hermès International has unveiled their new collection of limited edition Indian traditional saris.
The French label has also opened its second Indian store in Mumbai and joined other major brands like Etro, Giorgio Armani and Ermenegildo Zegna. But, unlike other brands that are targeting the menswear market, Hermès has chosen to try its hands on women's wear.
Along with china, India is considered to be one of the leading emerging markets. The high-end fashion market in India is estimated to be more than US$ 2 billion and is currently growing at an annual rate of 20 percent.
Even today, majority of the Indian women wear sari not only for everyday use, but also during weddings, festivals and other occasions.
