Negotiations between Austrian Gama Textile Group and Malta Enterprise failed last week.
Following this collapse, Tony Zarb, General Secretary of General Workers Union (GWU), sought intervention of Prime Minister, Dr Lawrence Gonzi.
Writing a letter to the Prime Minister, Zarb also said that GWU was willing to work in close collaboration with the government to restore talks.
GWU said it would do all sincere efforts for all parties to meet again so that the existing difficulties would be surmounted and the creation of these 400 new jobs would not be wasted.
