Juapong Textiles Limited (JTL), which has not been functioning for years, is to restart its operations by the beginning of April this year, informed the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen.
Technical evaluation confirmed that the machinery and equipment were in good conditions and a comprehensive plan had been drawn to start factory operation.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry also plans to attract new strategic investors, both foreign and local to insert extra equity into the company as part of rebuilding programme, said Kyerematen.
Former management of JTL has also been consulted for a foolproof management and operational plan so that company might start production of grey cloth at competitive prices, added the minister.
Called the negotiation as successful one, Kyerematen said that both Tex Style (Gh) Limited (GTP) and Akosombo Textiles Limited had agreed to buy all the grey cloth to be manufactured by the factory.
