Kroger promotes Moeder to President of Central Division

The Kroger Co announced that Robert Moeder has been promoted to President of Kroger's Central Division, effective May 21.
Moeder has held several leadership positions with Kroger, including his most recent role as VP of Convenience Stores, Supermarket Petroleum and Turkey Hill Dairy.
"Bob brings more than 30 years of retail and division management experience to his new position. He has played an instrumental role in building our convenience store business and fuel business. We look forward to his significant contributions in the Central division," said Don McGeorge, President and COO of Kroger.
Moeder, 54, began his career with Dillon Companies Inc in 1971 working part-time for its Calhoun's clothing division while attending college in Salina, Kansas. He was eventually named President of Calhoun's in 1984 and has since held a number of positions with increasing responsibility.
Kroger's Central division, based in Indianapolis, includes Kroger, Hilander, Owen's and Pay Less stores in parts of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.
Moeder succeeds Lisa Holsclaw, 46, who will join Kroger's corporate office as VP of Drug, Pharmacy and General Merchandising.
"General merchandise and pharmacy are important and growing segments of Kroger's business," McGeorge said. "Lisa's diverse experience will help us continue to expand offerings to customers."
Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kroger is one of the nation's largest retail grocery chains. It operates 2,507 supermarkets and multi- department stores in 31 states under two dozen local banners including Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, King Soopers, Smith's and Smith's Marketplace, Fry's and Fry's Marketplace, Dillons, QFC and City Market.
Kroger also operates 791 convenience stores, 428 fine jewelry stores, 579 supermarket fuel centers and 42 food processing plants.
