ProLogis leases more than 641,000 Square Feet in Southern Poland

ProLogis, a leading global provider of distribution facilities and services, has leased more than 641,000 square feet (59,600 square meters) of distribution space at a new industrial park it is developing in Poland.
Three companies have signed new agreements for space at ProLogis Park Chorzow, located in the city of Chorzow, northwest of Katowice. The first phase of construction at the park is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2006, and is now more than 70 percent pre-leased. At full build-out, the park will contain seven buildings totaling 1.6 million
square feet (146,000 square meters).
"The need for high-quality industrial space in Poland continues to grow as domestic and international companies establish modern distribution operations here," said Maciej Madejak, ProLogis Vice President and Market Officer for Poland. "With nine new facilities currently under development across the country, ProLogis is moving quickly to accommodate this demand. We are very pleased to be working with our new customers at ProLogis Park Chorzow and anticipate a high degree of additional customer interest at that location."
The new transactions include:
-- 309,000 square feet (28,700 square meters) leased to two subsidiaries of the Raben Group, a European third-party logistics provider, in the second quarter of 2006. The Raben Group serves customers in Belgium, Estonia, Holland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine.
-- 188,000 square feet (17,500 square meters) leased to FM Logistic, a privately held logistics services provider, also in the second quarter. Based in France, FM Logistic has operations in 13 countries and approx. 9,500 employees. It also leases space from ProLogis in France.
