Apparel & home furnishings maker Burke Mills Inc of Valdese, North Carolina, reports operating results for the thirteen weeks ended April 1, 2006.
Net sales for the thirteen weeks ended April 1, 2006 decreased by 10.8 percent to $6,369,000 compared to $7,138,000 in 2005. The Company recorded a net loss of ($475,000) for the thirteen week period compared to a net loss of ($307,000) for the same period in 2005. This resulted in net loss per share of ($.17) compared to a net loss of ($.11) in 2005.
Burke Mills major market is supplying packaged dyed yarn to knitters and weavers for apparel, home furnishings, home upholstery, automotive upholstery, contract upholstery and some specialty products.
