Titan Chemicals Corp. Bhd. achieves two new safety records -6 Million Safe Man-Hours with No Lost Time Accidents and two years of No Lost Time Accidents (NL TA). To commemorate the records, Encik Zabidi bin Dato' Md. Adib, Johore State Director for the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, presented tokens to employees of the company.
Managing Director of Titan Chemicals, Donald M. Condon Jr. said, "These 6 million safe man-hours and two safe year records, translate into 740 consecutive working days (without any injury-time lost) dating back to April 18, 2004. This record of safe man-hours is the longest to-date and it is another achievement in the recent string of milestones set by the company. Other safety milestones include five Gold awards in 2005 as well as safety awards for 11 consecutive years from Malaysian Society of Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH).
Mr Condon added, "Management and employees of the company live by the philosophy that 'no job or service is so important and urgent that we cannot take time to perform it safely.' The achievement of the milestones and recognition by MSOSH reflect our people's strong commitment towards safety and health."
To mark achievement of the two milestones, all Titan employees were given a hometype fire extinguisher to commemorate the 6 million safe man-hours and a blood pressure gauge for the 2 safe Year mark; both of which carries the message of safety outside their working environment.
