The Habasit Group, the worldwide leading producer of high quality power transmission belts, conveyor belts and gearboxes, announces that the Group's net consolidated sales for 2005 reached a new record of CHF 625.1 million, which represents a growth of 39 percent compared to the 2004 result.
Impressing growth rates were also realized for EBIT (37.4 percent over 2004). Depreciations of fixed assets and amortizations were 30.5 percent above previous year.
Based on the Group's strong financial situation, investments increased to CHF 51 million and were mainly financed by the company itself. The total number of employees has reached the number of 3126. Operational cost decreased by 4.1 percent compared to 2004.
The Swiss based, worldwide active company announced its business results during the Board of Directors assembly by Thomas Habegger, Chairman of the Habasit Holding AG, and Giovanni Volpi, Chairman of the Habasit AG. The very positive sales results clearly demonstrate the successful and lasting development of the Habasit Group.
Despite the increasing competitiveness in the market and the economic environment, Habasit proceeded to expand its global no. 1 position in the belting market.
