Textronics Inc, a pioneer in the field of electronic textiles, has named Geoffrey Lapres as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Lapres brings a broad base of financial management and strategic planning experience at Fortune 100, mid-market and early stage start-up companies to his position at Textronics.
Most recently, he served as CFO for Tacit Networks, a New Jersey venture-backed mid-stage company providing software solutions for network optimization, where he helped create a business model that increased revenue from $500,000 to $18 million in two years.
Prior to that, Lapres was vice president of finance at INRANGE Technologies, a New Jersey subsidiary of SPX Corporation. There, he was instrumental in achieving a record IPO at 25 times over subscription, and completed six acquisitions in two years, adding $75 million in annual revenue.
Lapres has also served as director of financial planning and later CFO for General Signal Networks of Mt. Laurel, N.J from 1996-2000, and held several financial management positions for Unisys Corporation of Blue Bell, Pa., from 1980–1996. He earned his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees in finance from Lehigh University.
Textronics is a leader in the development and production of electro-textiles or “e-textiles,” which are fabric systems integrated with micro-electronics that can conduct, warm, illuminate or sense.
