Aromatics (Thailand) Public Company Limited (ATC) reports that in the third quarter of this year, the company's net profit was Bt2,817 million or a rise by Bt1,902 million in the same period last year or by 208 per cent.
Mr. Permsak Shevawattananon, president of Aromatics (Thailand) Plc, said that ATC, in 2007, would run in full capacity throughout the year and indicated that the prices of products should continue to rise.
On 30 October 2006, Mr. Permsak Shevawattananon, president of Aromatics (Thailand) Plc or ATC, reported the financial statement in the third quarter of 2006 to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that in the third quarter of 2006, the company had the net profit of Bt2,817 million, a rise by Bt1,902 million or rising by 208 percent, compared to the third quarter last year when the net profit was Bt915 million.
The company had EBITDA of Bt3,272 million, a rise from the third quarter last year by Bt1,814 million or by 124 per cent. The rise has been mainly attributed to the increasing of product to feed margin. In the third quarter of 2006, product to feed margin was US$180 per tonne, compared to US$122 per tonne in the third quarter last year. It marks an increase of Bt1,869 million or 89.47 per cent.
Mr. Permsak added that in the forth quarter this year, the prices of aromatics products both paraxylene and benzene continued to rise from the third quarter. At present, the prices of paraxylene and benzene, based on FOB Korea, stand at around US$1,120 and US$930 per tonne respectively, compared to the price of condensate, used as raw materials, of US$510 per tonne. Moreover, the price of cyclohexane, the derivatives of benzene, saw its price margin of US$150 per tonne higher than benzene's products.
