The ground-breaking ceremony for the new production facilities of Lenzing Technik's new division – sheet metal technology – was held on 5 December. The new plant will provide jobs for about 60 staff members.
The new and highly automated center for high-tech processing of sheet metal will be located at Pichlwangerstrassse in Lenzing, right next to SML and Lenzing Plastics. Construction work will be completed by the middle of 2007. A production area of approximately 54,000 square feet will provide jobs for about 60 staff members.
The new business section will use laser cutting, punching, bending and robot-welding applications to provide customers from a variety of industries, such as plant engineering, automotive and medical, with high-quality sheet metal products.
A striking feature is the high degree of automation that is ensured by robot technology and the fully automated high-rise rack system that provides the production units with raw materials and removes the finished products by self-actuation.
Sustained Growth Helmut Aigner, Managing Director of Lenzing Technik says: "Lenzing Technik's development is sustained and positive.
