A central Kentucky based Churchill Weavers, one of the nations largest and recognized company well-known for its luxurious hand woven throws, baby blankets, scarves for the last 85 years, is set to close down at the end of next month.
The Louisiana-based Crown Crafts, the parent company of Churchill Weavers announced that it plans the closure of the Berea Company because of declining sales due to fierce foreign competition.
The Churchill Company suffered losses of $402,000 during financial year of 2006. It then lost $341,000 during the first half of fiscal 2007.
The closure will affect 56 employees of the company.
