PB Logistics will increase its garment capacity to well over three million units in November thanks to a bespoke hanging storage installation by SDI Greenstone, the leading supplier of materials handling solutions to the retail industry.
The automated system has significantly increased storage space at PB Logistic's Leicester Distribution Centre, giving it an additional capacity of 1.5 million units at that site alone.
The Leicester DC has also extended its warehousing service to include new steam tunnelling and hand finishing facilities, establishing it as one of the biggest and most technologically advanced logistics depots in the United Kingdom.
David Smart, Operations Director of PB Logistics, said: "The completion of the SDI Greenstone contract takes the PBL hanging garment capacity to well over three million units. We have already had considerable interest in the additional capacity we have on offer from retailers looking for robust and flexible supply chain services."
PB Logistics has unrivalled experience in the handling, storing and picking of fast moving goods from hanging, floor standing and pallet locations. With a footprint of over two million square feet, PB Logistics has the flexibility and the scale to grow to meet its customers' business developments.
