Starting from today, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has planned a two week shutdown for one of its hydrocracker units.
Since it is a pre-decided shut-down for catalyst regeneration, neither the crude output nor the product supplies will be affected.
In an exclusive interview with Fibre2fashion an official from the company stated, “The closure period is expected to increase exports of high sulphur diesel by 40,000 tonnes and lead to a similar fall in superior grade mid-distillate at the coastal refinery in the southern Karnataka state.
Authentic sources from MRPL also confirmed that Naphtha production will be down by 10,000 tonnes, while the output of liquefied petroleum gas will go down by 2,000-3,000 tonnes.
