According to reports emanating from Japan, Toray Industries Inc is mulling to increase prices of synthetic fibres from August, in a bid to offset rising raw material prices and costs.
An senior official at Toray headquarters in Japan confirmed the news to Fibre2fashion and said that it plans to increase prices by 3-5 percent, the first such price increase in about a year's time.
He said the prices will be raised by $0.21 per kilogram on polyester staple fibers and polyester yarn and $0.30 on acrylic staple fibers and Nylon filaments used for industrial purpose.
