SRF to venture into laminated fabrics

SRF Ltd., one of the leading manufacturers of nylon tyre cord fabrics in India, is mulling to increase its product offerings of technical textile goods, by venturing in to the lamination fabric sector.
SRF is a domestic leader in refrigerants, engineering plastics and industrial yarns as well and also enjoys a significant presence in polyester films and fluorospecialities.
Currently nylon cord fabrics account for as much as 85 percent of its sales from technical textile products and the company plans to reduce dependence on the same.
The company is setting up a plant to produce laminated fabrics at a cost of Rs 600 million in the state of Uttarakhand in North India.
Laminated fabrics are mainly used in signages and most of it is currently imported from China and South Korea, which could mean a huge opportunity for SRF.
