Software leader Intergraph Corporation announced that Technip is implementing IntelliShip marine design software at its Technip USA Corporation engineering center, Houston, Texas.
Advanced Marine Design Software to Improve Project Execution and Timely Delivery
Technip USA's use of IntelliShip is intended to help integrate the work processes of the firm's engineering and fabrication groups and reduce project duration. Technip USA is also implementing IntelliShip with the goal of increasing overall modeling productivity and reducing labor and time expended on drawing production as well as improving fabrication planning.
"Technip is one of the few fully integrated engineering companies in the world that can provide virtually all services, including engineering design, construction, procurement and maintenance of floating production units required for offshore oil and gas production," said Gerhard Sallinger, president, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine. "IntelliShip is expected to speed time to first oil for Technip clients and reduce cost while increasing engineering quality and constructability."
John Wishart, senior vice president of engineering & services, Technip USA, said, "The overall product direction and the potential of IntelliShip to improve productivity in an extremely demanding offshore industry are just two of the reasons why Technip is implementing the Intergraph software. Intergraph has worked closely with our engineers to address some of Technip's unique modeling requirements for floating production units."
