Fits.me strengthens its high level management team
Oct '15
Fit preference specialist who enables leading apparel brands, retailers and merchants to engage with their shoppers, personalise their purchase journey and enjoy valuable operational insight through a portfolio of solutions centred on Fits.me's expertise in fit preferences, Fits.me, has strengthened and reorganised its highest levels of management, as it moves swiftly to optimise for international expansion following its summer acquisition by Rakuten, Inc.

Former CEO James Gambrell has appointed its former chief operating officer Stuart Simms to the role of chief executive officer, while Gambrell himself moves into the newly created position of executive chairman. Together, these changes provide the additional executive capacity needed to support the company's rapid post-Rakuten expansion, growth objectives and global ambitions.

New chief executive Stuart Simms will take over former CEO Gambrell's current role in its entirety, overseeing all day-to-day aspects of the business including commercial & client operations, sales & marketing, product and finance. He joins Fits.me's Board of Directors and reports to the executive chairman, according to a press release.

Gambrell will assume responsibility for delivering the foundations for international expansion in North America and Asia, including nurturing Fits.me's relationships across Rakuten entities, and for developing strategic partnerships and technology to support the company's growth.

Fits.me executive chairman James Gambrell said, “This is a brilliant appointment: Stuart substantially increases the executive management capacity of Fits.me and will enable us to accelerate the delivery of the significant growth opportunities that result from being part of the Rakuten family.”

New chief executive officer Stuart Simms said, “Rakuten presents a fantastic opportunity for Fits.me to fulfil its potential and continue its market leadership. Today's division of responsibilities plays to our respective strengths and gives us the focus and bench strength which will help us to meet ambitious goals and hit our targets.”

All changes are effective immediately. (GK)
