[TC]² 3D Body Scanning reaches 55 universities

Lynn Boorady and Elaine Polvinen, Buffalo State College : “Buffalo State President Aaron Podolefsky is spearheading a WNY consortium of college presidents in WNY to develop a SUNY economic initiative. The [TC]² body scanner was identified for special incentive funds from this SUNY economic initiative. The Fashion and Textile Technology program is looking forward to integrating this into the curriculum and developing future research partnerships with local corporate partners such as advisory board member New Era and any other industries that are interested in researching customization and fit issues.

The world-wide quality reputation of [TC]² in research and education as well as capability to seamlessly integrate with the multidimensional OptiTex application was the primary reason the [TC]² scanner was selected. It will be integrated into the FTT curriculum as a capstone course on computerized 3D pattern making OptiTex application that focuses on customization and fit issues. Research of multiple FTT faculty members currently focuses on using computer software and body scanning hardware to analyze garment sizing and fits with the goal of improving computer simulations of garments. The acquisition of this scanner will align perfectly with advancing the FTT curriculum as well as program faculty and advisory board members research interests.”

[TC]² has a continuing promotion for university customers which includes a free additional network license key for the [TC]² Body Measurement System software for 20 additional users so that students and researches have broad and easy access.
