Momentis Fashion System helps Lipsy grow retail network

Lipsy, part of the Next group, began using the Momentis Fashion System to support its operations in 2007.

Since then it has expanded its customer base throughout the US and European markets, increased its number of retail outlets by 50 and quadrupled to over a million the number of units sold to wholesalers annually.

When searching for enterprise software Lipsy was focused on sustaining its growth. This meant finding a solution that would eliminate redundant and unnecessary activities while giving decision makers real-time visibility into inventory, sales and product performance.

With Momentis, Lipsy got all that and more. Albert Corin, Lipsy's Wholesale Production Director, emphasizes that "the expertise of Momentis consultants in wholesale best practice provided Lipsy with invaluable insight into improving processes and streamlining operations."

Using the Momentis Fashion System Lipsy has been able to contain its costs by eliminating unnecessary steps in its value chain, improving warehouse efficiency and seizing opportunities for collaboration with raw materials suppliers and manufacturers.

These improvements have culminated in an enriched offering for customers, particularly since Lipsy is now able to refresh product ranges on a monthly basis. Lipsy has also been using the Momentis Fashion System's intelligent stock allocation rules to maximize sales opportunities and its automated import and export documentation production to ensure tight delivery deadlines are met, further improving its proposition for an increasingly demanding customer base.

Confident in Momentis software, Lipsy has expressed its intention to move beyond the core Momentis Fashion System and begin implementing its portal software to achieve greater supply chain management capabilities.

Using the Vendor Connect portal, Lipsy's suppliers will be able to remotely and instantly view and update RFQs, costing packages, technical specs and production statuses as well as view and track orders.

Mr. Corin sums up the expected benefits in stating that "by providing suppliers with real-time access to information via the Momentis portal, Lipsy will be able to build on those relationships and provide a simple, fast, easy way of collaborating that will drive cost benefits on both sides."
