Avery Dennison RBIS, an apparel industry global leader in packaging, labelling, and embellishments, will sponsor the Emerging Brand Award at the WGSN Global Fashion Awards once again this year. The award will be given to a rising fashion talent whose collection integrates a strong branding vision.

Avery Dennison RBIS partners with leading apparel and footwear companies to elevate their brands through innovative heat transfer, embroidery, woven, and printed fabric embellishments, serving customers in over 50 countries around the world. Through this award, RBIS hopes to show young fashion designers that utilizing the latest innovative product branding solutions enables design creativity, brand integrity, and ultimately, the ability to tell an exciting brand story.

RBIS’ UNITI Purpose demonstration brand, for example, exhibits how designers can integrate elements into their apparel that not only enhance the look of the garment, but provide the means to heighten the impact of their overall brand.

“The WGSN Global Fashion Awards is excited to continue its partnership with apparel branding experts Avery Dennison RBIS in the search for the next great brand. This year we look to continue the tradition started at last year’s awards and select a winner who is capable of creating and executing an interesting and unique brand story,” said Lauretta Roberts, WGSN Global Fashion Awards director.

Award applicants will display their work in front of an international jury of forty experts from the fields of design, retail, marketing and styling. The winner will also receive €12,000 in funds to further develop their brand. To qualify for the awards, brands or designers must have their own, original independent label, which should be no more than two years old as of June 30, 2014. Entries are welcome from around the world, however, the award is not open to undergraduate students. The shortlisted entries will benefit from being posted on ARTS THREAD, the international launch pad for new creative talent. Eligibility and rules regarding entry can be found on the WGSN GFA website.

“With the selection of last year’s winner, Emma J. Shipley, we were able to find a designer with outstanding prospects in the fashion industry, based on her clear and defined brand vision,” says Tim Voegele-Downing, global creative director, Avery Dennison RBIS. “At this year’s awards we are looking for the brand that is most successfully able to combine an inspired collection with clear and consistent marketing vision and branding.”

The WGSN Global Fashion Awards ceremony takes place on November 13, 2014 in London.
