Retail-only solutions and service provider, Retail Assist, has announced its expansion into the US. This new development is based upon increasing the market for its Merret supply chain solution.
Whilst Merret already has international customers, recent research undertaken by Retail Assist revealed an opening in the North American retail market for an integrated and wide-ranging solution.
Comments Managing Director, Alan Morris: “The discussions we have had in the States have highlighted a valuable opportunity. Retailers looking at Merret have told us that there is no product to match it in their market.”
Whilst Retail Assist is currently directly managing interest from US retailers, its strategy is to appoint partners who will act as value-added resellers for the Merret solution.
Merret is a real-time, multi-currency, multi-channel merchandising, warehousing and stock control solution that covers all areas of the retail supply process. Merret capabilities include product content, purchasing, warehousing, replenishment, inward and outward distribution, store back-office, retail financials, in-season planning, CRM data capture and reporting.
Its latest module is Merret BI, which offers integrated Business Intelligence capability and enables retailers to analyse and report on all elements of their business.
Moving forward, the Merret product roadmap includes development that will enhance its operation within the IBM System i environment and extend it to Microsoft .NET platform. With a first phase of the .NET development due for Spring launch, Retail Assist will be equipped to offer greater choice to its retailer clients by harnessing the strengths of both Microsoft and IBM.
