TradeStone will also help Shoprite reduce inventory and rehandling costs with more frequent but smaller flows to stores to replenish shelves with new looks and new products that go beyond the basics of food.
“We're confident that TradeStone's Best Practice methodologies will help us balance our mix of private label non-food and food items,” said Photy Tzellios, Supply Chain Director, Shoprite.
“We also look forward to taking advantage of the enhanced visibility into our supply chain that their Merchandise Lifecycle Management suite will offer us, so that we always have the right amounts of inventory on our shelves and are able to keep up with the African quotas and rates on items. TradeStone will be vital to assisting us in continuing to bring Africa quality goods at great prices.”
“We believe Africa's burgeoning economy will become more important to the worldwide retail community,” said Sue Welch, CEO, TradeStone Software. “We are excited to have a company of such caliber – Africa's largest retailer – select TradeStone for their global sourcing and private label development and welcome them into the TradeStone family.
This is the second multi-billion dollar grocery retailer to join TradeStone in the past quarter and we hope to continue the trend of TradeStone's emerging dominance in the food and drug industry.”
