PVH selects 7thOnline to help achieve merchandising objectives

Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, one of the world's largest apparel companies, has looked to 7thOnline Inc, a leading provider of assortment planning and optimization solutions, in an effort to increase the productivity of its assortment planning processes.

PVH has selected 7thOnline's Assortment Planning solution, which is designed to provide more timely visibility into demand, to empower merchants to make better business decisions, and to reduce manual activity and errors. PVH selected 7thOnline as its vendor based on the company's expertise in apparel, its industry-leading technology, and its reputation for superior customer service. PVH has rolled out 7thOnline Assortment Planning to its Calvin Klein, IZOD, and Timberland wholesale sportswear divisions.

"7thOnline provides a more proactive, efficient, and accurate approach to assortment planning than the methods previously in place. We selected 7thOnline Assortment Planning in an effort to ensure our customers' needs are met and to improve the productivity of our Calvin Klein, IZOD, and Timberland sportswear businesses," stated Allen Sirkin, President and COO of PVH.

7thOnline Assortment Planning is intended to enable PVH's merchants to execute optimal merchandise assortments - style/color/size by store - for its retail accounts. All product, planning, and demand information is aggregated in a single place, updated in real-time, and accessible 24/7 via web browser. The collaborative capabilities of the program enable real-time sharing of plan data both internally and with accounts. The process is designed to achieve better visibility into all planning activity, thereby leading to earlier and more accurate orders, on-time deliveries, and a reduction in lost sales, markdowns, and chargebacks.

Debbie Beer-Christensen, Associate Director of Wholesale Systems for PVH, who oversaw the system's implementation, stated that "one of the most critical benefits is earlier visibility into aggregated demand. With 7thOnline's Assortment Planning tool, we are able to access and aggregate demand information much earlier than was previously possible, so that we can respond quickly to ensure our inventory matches our customers' orders. We can make better decisions and make decisions more quickly regarding new orders, adds, drops, and substitutions. The more accurate and timely buys will, hopefully, lead to higher sales."
