Lectra, the world leader in integrated technology solutions dedicated to industries using soft materials -- textiles, leather, industrial fabrics, and composite materials -- has named Simon Poulton Vice President of Strategic Fashion and PLM Sales for Lectra North America. Based in New York City, Poulton reports to Roy Shurling, President of Lectra North America, and is responsible for strengthening and extending Lectra's foothold in the fashion and retail sectors, and increasing revenue through Lectra's PLM offering.

Poulton has more than 30 years' experience in the apparel and technology industries, including a number of years spent with Lectra. This post marks his return to the company. He has held sales and leadership roles working with various companies in the apparel industry, including Wal-Mart, Gap, Liz Claiborne, JC Penney, The Limited, Levi Strauss, and many others.

Simon will manage a team of highly skilled professionals and, with the help of a strong global network, will focus on large apparel accounts in the U.S. His aim is to achieve solid and sustainable growth and to reinforce the company's brand image in fashion and to further strengthen Lectra's position as the undisputed leader in the sector in the US. Simon will also help expand Lectra's Fashion Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activity.

Lectra Fashion PLM is the most comprehensive, high-performance solution for the fashion sector. Capitalizing on 35 years' international experience with the fashion industry, Lectra is the only market player able to deliver a technology and services offer specifically developed to meet the needs of these companies. The scale and specialized content of Lectra Fashion PLM make it an unrivalled solution on the market.

Lectra's PLM solution can be used to transform the biggest challenges of a trend-driven industry into sustainable competitive advantages. Lectra Fashion PLM can also be used in conjunction with Lectra's market-leading software: Kaledo for design, Modaris and PGS for pattern-making, Modaris 3D Fit for virtual 3D prototyping, and Diamino and MGS for marker-making.

"Simon Poulton is taking on this position under difficult economic conditions for our industry. We are happy to have him back. His wealth of knowledge and experience in the apparel industry will help enlarge our strategic fashion business," said Roy Shurling, President of Lectra North America. "I am confident Lectra's leading technology combined with Poulton's expertise will provide retail, footwear and apparel companies with what they need to overcome today's economic realities."

"I am very happy to be back at Lectra," said Poulton. "Because of the unprecedented economic climate, brands and retailers will need to invest in innovative software that allows them to increase productivity while saving money. With a strong North American team and our global network, Lectra is uniquely positioned to achieve this."
