TradeStone Software, the retail industry's leading provider of private label and global sourcing solutions, announced key customer and renowned UK-retailer JD Williams has been selected as a finalist for the VICS Collaborative Commerce Achievement Awards.

JD Williams was selected in the “Supply Side Excellence” category for the innovative work they've done with TradeStone's Merchandise Lifecycle Management solutions, including accelerating speed to market and improving supply chain visibility. Other finalists in the category include Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and Whirlpool Corporation.

The VICS Achievement Awards honor outstanding companies for their strategic thinking, leadership and effective supply chain initiatives. The Awards recognize the positive results of company-wide dedication to customer satisfaction through continuous improvements to the supply chain. This year's awards ceremony will be presented at the U Connect Event in Orlando, Florida on the evening of June 3, 2009.

In addition to the recognition from VICS, JD William's work with TradeStone is featured in the current issue of Apparel Magazine as a Top 40 Innovator in the retail industry. The publication highlights the success of the JD Williams/TradeStone partnership through the enhanced accuracy of sample measurements, increased customer choices and sales increases. JD Williams CEO Alan White notes in the article, “To offer our range of products in a multi-channel retail market, we're employing the latest and best technology.”

“When we started working with JD Williams, they were very focused on improving margin and driving down returns by establishing consistency in quality and fit across all apparel brands,” said Sue Welch, CEO, TradeStone Software. “We are delighted at the success of the initiative; the payback was immediate and dramatic, resulting in increases in margin and average sale per customer.

This impressive recognition from the industry celebrates JD Williams' achievement and innovation, and is a reflection of the value TradeStone offers our customers. Our Merchandise Lifecycle Management solutions are helping some of the largest retailers in the world improve margins and increase speed to market by nearly 20 weeks.”

Since 1986, VICS, the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions Association, has worked to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire supply chain. VICS pioneered the implementation of a cross-industry standard, Quick Response (QR) that simplified the flow of product and information in the retail industry for retailers and suppliers alike. VICS is made up of companies who have proven that a timely and accurate flow of product and information between trading partners significantly improves their competitive position.
