VAI (Vormittag Associates Inc), a leader in enterprise solutions for the distribution, manufacturing, retail and service industries, and an IBM Premier Business Partner, announced the successful implementation of its S2K Enterprise for Manufacturing and S2K Enterprise for Distribution software for NAFECO.

The Decatur, Alabama-based company sells firefighting equipment, EMS equipment, public safety supplies, uniforms, protective apparel, firefighter gifts and police gifts. NAFECO has the largest outside sales force and the largest in-stock inventory of firefighting equipment in North America, which it distributes from six warehouse facilities throughout the Southeast.

With this new software, NAFECO now has the means to coordinate operations for the six warehouse locations onto a single, fully integrated system, with real-time data visibility. Notably, VAI's S2K Enterprise for Manufacturing helps NAFECO to minimize costs and maximize profitability in a modern, easy-to-use, cost-effective materials requirement planning (MRP) solution that delivers a real return on investment (ROI). Additionally, S2K Enterprise for Distribution is a comprehensive software suite that provides companies with the power to simplify business operations, manage the supply chain, reduce costs and improve customer service.

After a comprehensive search for enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, NAFECO selected VAI, as described by Jeremy Bowling, Systems Administrator, NAFECO, “We were looking for a comprehensive distribution solution to integrate NAFECO's distribution centers, but also required software to address the company's light manufacturing. VAI emerged as the best fit after a nearly two-year search process. The S2K solutions are equipped with numerous add-on modules that are easily customizable to meet our evolving needs. Additionally, the competitively priced solutions did not exceed our budget limitations.”

Mike Morano, Project Director, VAI, noted, “After an analysis of the company's requirements, VAI recommended our S2K Enterprise for Manufacturing and Distribution modules to streamline operations, improve customer service capabilities and provide a bird's eye view of all important company data. In today's challenging economic climate, companies need products and services that yield a high ROI, and with VAI's solution set, we are confident that NAFECO will quickly reap the rewards.
