New appointment deepens Lawson's fashion focus in region

Lawson Software announced that Shane Cumming has been named director of Lawson's fashion vertical in the Asia Pacific region. Cumming will head Lawson's fashion sales and strategic initiatives in the Asia-Pacific, supporting Lawson's move to align its focus according to core verticals in the region. He reports to David Hope, general manager and regional managing director, Lawson Asia-Pacific.

Cumming joined Lawson in 2002 and was most recently the company's regional director of the Greater China region. “Lawson is a global player in the apparel and footwear ERP software industry and we have many notable fashion customers in the Asia-Pacific region, “ said Cumming. “I look forward to my new role in strengthening the regional business for this industry.”

“The fashion industry is a dynamic one with unique characteristics. Shane has already built up a commendable portfolio in this area and I am confident of his ability to take his responsibilities one step further with this new appointment.” said Hope.

Prior to joining Lawson, Cumming spent two years with a startup establishing an integrated electronic bill presentment and payment business. He was also previously with IBM and has worked and lived in Asia since 1993. In his new role as director of Lawson Fashion in the Asia-Pacific, he will lead a team comprising sales, marketing and consulting dedicated to the fashion industry across the region.

Lawson's customers in the fashion industry include TAL Group, Elegant Prosper, Getz Bros, R.M.Williams and Brandix.

Lawson recently announced that its new strategic direction in FY10 was to align its organization structure according to key industries such as fashion, F&B, equipment service management and rental (ESM&R), manufacturing and distribution, healthcare and government.
