On the 10th and 11th of March this year, the assyst GmbH hosted the first Fashion Forum in Munich. The Forum is a conference on technology in the apparel industry and more than 150 invited guests attend the event, which was held in "Das Schloss" near the Olympiapark.

During the course of the two days, the guests exchanged information and learned all about trends and new technologies and how these are applied in actual practice. Many speakers from apparel industry associations and companies presented innovations and strategies for the sector. The Forum also boasted an exhibition of products, where guests could have themselves scanned and get a real insight into the possibilities of virtual product development. "Scanatars" (scan + avatar) are new in the world of apparel technology - they are actually avatars created from scans of real persons, like individual house models, for example - and the dimensions and body shapes of the virtual models exactly match those of their human counterparts. This enables the efficient checking of models at an early stage of product development.

In line with the company slogan "Your business first", assyst has been offering workshops and roadshows covering individual topics and products on a regular basis since the autumn of 2009. The Fashion Forum 2010, the last in this initial series of events, will be held once a year from now on. Andreas Seidl, host and Managing Associate Partner of the event, commented, "We want to use the Fashion Forum as a medium for informing our regular customers and interested professionals about the latest technologies in the sector - but at the same time we are providing them with a platform on which they can exchange information with one another and profit from their individual experiences."

German market leader, assyst develops integrated CAD and PLM solutions for the Fashion and Interiors industries.
