Centric Software, Inc., will present its interactive, patent-pending mobile Centric 8 Collection Book for Fashion iPad App at an event in New York on Nov. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Library Hotel.

The New York event is the second in a series of hands-on seminars for the new iPad app, and comes on the heels of Centric's Paris introduction of the Centric 8 Collection Book for Fashion App. With the iPad app, Centric—leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for makers of hard and/or soft lines in the fashion and consumer goods industries—can directly link a collection of styles from the Centric 8 PLM system to customers through an interactive mobile device. Centric is marketing the patent-pending application as an optional module in the new 4.0 version of its Centric 8 PLM suite.

The standing room-only event in Paris attracted attendees from multiple countries, according to Chris Groves, president and CEO of Centric. “Apparel houses around the world are quickly understanding how this Collection Book for Fashion iPad App is transcending the customary boundaries of PLM, and transforming the fashion industry by bringing the consumer closer to the designer and the latest fashions than ever before.”

Building brand through collection presentations
Designed for the high-fashion industry, the iPad app allows fashion houses and designers to present their collections to buyers faster and more accurately, explains Groves. Style information from the Centric 8 PLM suite is available at fashion events or immediately afterward, in a visually appealing, highly intuitive style on the iPad mobile device platform.

Customers can see detailed images of all styles, review the full range of material and color options, enter orders, and know instantly if is the style is available for purchase. The patent-pending iPad app even allows design staff to accessorize designs for optimal consumer appeal and merchandising impact, and then accurately portray the latest style options in real time.

The iPad app enables fashion houses to take orders from customers and corporate buyers at showings, at post-show corporate-buyer events, or immediately after runway events in local retail boutiques anywhere in the world. For the fashion industry, where collection presentations manifest and build the brand, “the elegance, immediacy and accuracy of this system let the fashion house meet customer desire, improve satisfaction, increase sales and provide a high-quality experience consistent with the brand,” says Groves.

“The Centric 8 Collection Book for Fashion iPad App is changing the way the fashion industry works, and the way product designers and manufacturers perceive PLM,” says Groves. “PLM is no longer the domain of back-end processes and systems, but is about connecting product ideas and creation with product development's technical processes and with the end consumer.”
